Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted, or even hopeless? Do you wonder if things will ever get better? Whether you are experiencing emotional struggles that you just can’t seem to get through, having problems in your relationships, struggling with past trauma, experiencing stressful life changes, or seem to be stuck repeating the same old unhealthy or destructive patterns and behaviors you just can’t seem to break free of. Therapy can help. Seeking help for the first time can be a scary and overwhelming experience. It takes courage to be willing to reach out and open up to someone new. As a licensed counselor and a licensed addiction counselor, I can accompany and assist you on your journey towards healing.
I believe that the foundation of successful therapy is the creation of a non-judgmental place where it is safe for you to explore painful, scary or overwhelming feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and experiences. Here we can examine and understand where and how certain behaviors that may have developed adaptively may no longer be serving you and holding you back from inner healing and living the life you desire.
People are complex. Everyone’s situation is unique. As such, I do not use a one-size-approach model to working with clients but use an interactive trauma-informed and integrated approach where I pull from various therapeutic modalities and techniques that would be the most helpful and effective in helping you achieve your goals. Some of the treatment modalities I use include: EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Existential, Narrative and Humanistic. Regardless of the therapeutic modality used, it will always be my goal to make you feel safe, heard, and understood as I accompany and assist you on your personal journey of exploration and the creation of new perspectives, coping skills, and ways for you to achieve your individual goals and find the peace, joy, and contentment in your life that you desire. I have a firm understanding of trauma and work to empower my clients using a strength-based approach where I assist you in identifying, developing, and drawing from your inherent and unique strengths and skills.
While I work with a wide variety of conditions, some of my areas of expertise include: trauma, PTSD, abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, domestic violence, relational issues, codependency, chronic pain, Veteran’s issues, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, addictions, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, multicultural issues, life transitions, and grief and loss.
Because I believe that a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship is vital to successful therapy, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to new clients to see if we will be a good fit for each other. In addition, I offer in-person sessions as well as online telehealth sessions if safety is a concern for you during these uncertain times. I can also accommodate busy schedules and offer some evening and weekend appointments.
