Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy focuses heavily on building a genuine therapeutic relationship. I use a holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach and base the modality of therapy on each client and their therapy goals. Sometimes, the things that have helped us survive are not the things that will help us thrive. I work with people to lean more heavily on the behaviors that will help them thrive. I am aware of the impact that transphobia, monosexism, homophobia, ablelism, fatphobia, racism, classism, xenophobia and the intersections between, can have on individuals and groups. My overall goal in therapy is to provide a space that is safe to speak about these experiences and a space that people can show up as their authentic selves.
