Maria Droste Counseling Center is pleased to announce that Aliena Martinez has recently joined the Board of Directors. Martinez, the Chief Operating Officer at the Latino Leadership Institute, will serve for a two-year term effective January 2022. 

Maria Droste Counseling Center provides affordable counseling for adults, children and families in need; helping them to overcome obstacles such as poverty, emotional trauma, illness and depression – regardless of the ability to pay. Aliena Martinez is a part of the 17-person volunteer board of directors as they spearhead the organization in providing the Colorado community with life-saving mental health resources. 

Aliena states:

I am excited to be a part of the important work that Maria Droste does in the Colorado community. Access to quality mental health resources is of the utmost importance to all Coloradans.

Mars Holsopple, Chief Development Officer of Maria Droste, said of Martinez that “We are thrilled to have Aliena join the board of directors and know that her experience and expertise will help move Maria Droste forward in the community.” 

Martinez has been working with the Latino Leadership Institute since 2017. She served as Director of Strategic Partnerships for four years and then moved to the Chief Operating Officer position in the summer of 2021.

Aliena considers herself to be a “problem solver, strategist, analyst, and issues-juggler” and is looking forward to bringing those skills to the Maria Droste Board of Directors.
