Maria Droste Counseling Center announces the resignation of Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Sandra T. Mann.
12/11/2023 – Denver, CO – The Board of Directors of Maria Droste Counseling Center (MDCC), a non-profit
organization that provides accessible, community-centered, high-quality mental health counseling and
clinical training, regardless of ability to pay, to the Denver metro and surrounding front range communities,
today announced that Dr. Sandra Mann, Chief Executive Officer, will be resigning from her position, effective
December 31, 2023.
Dr. Mann has led MDCC since February 2018, through a pivotal time in its history. Her dedication to
providing services while growing the organization has been instrumental to more than tripling its revenue and
staff. During her tenure, MDCC has become a leader in clinical training and behavioral health workforce
development and is recognized as a vital resource for the Colorado community.
Dr. Mann expressed her gratitude to the staff, volunteers, donors, and partners of MDCC, stating, “It has
been a privilege to serve MDCC and work alongside such a dedicated team. I am proud of what we have
accomplished together and am confident that the organization will continue to thrive in the years ahead.”
“The Board is grateful for Dr. Mann’s service to MDCC,” said Demetrius Parker, Chair of the Board. “Her
dedication and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark. We are committed to building upon this legacy as
we move forward.”
The Board will take some time before initiating a search for a new CEO to lead MDCC into its next chapter.
During the transition period, Michelle Wiley, MA, LPC, Former Vice Board Chair, will serve as Interim CEO.
The Board is confident in Ms. Wiley’s ability to manage the organization during this period and ensure a
smooth transition.
“MDCC has provided culturally responsive training and services for many years,” shares Ms. Wiley. “I look
forward to providing leadership and collaborating with all of our stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition
without interruption in services or partnerships.”
