Marsena (Mars) Holsopple, Chief Development Officer at Maria Droste Counseling Center, has been named to the Denver Business Journal’s 2021 C-Suite Awards
Maria Droste Counseling Center is thrilled to announce that Mars Holsopple, Chief Development Officer, is a winner for the Denver Business Journal’s 2021 C-Suite Awards. The awards are given to C-level executives that have demonstrated vital leadership and business savvy to guide their companies to success. Honorees were nominated by their colleagues, bosses and peers in an extremely competitive field.
Maria Droste Counseling Center provides affordable counseling for adults, children and families in need; helping them overcome obstacles such as poverty, emotional trauma, illness and depression. Mars Holsopple is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans to build a values-based brand for Maria Droste. Mars serves as a key leadership team member for internal employment coaching and mentoring and external community engagement while focusing on fund development to provide the Colorado community with life-saving mental health resources.

Marsena also excels in her relationships in the community as volunteer Judy Freeman said that Mars is “always rallying the team and constantly remaining open and resourceful in order to best support the MDCC mission, Mars proves herself to be a true leader every day. And she does this all with her naturally uplifting style that regularly acknowledges team members or simply cheers them on with a ‘high five!’”
Mars Holsopple has only been in Denver since 2013 and has made an enormous impact in just eight years. Mars hails from Chicago, Illinois and has her undergraduate degree in Cultural Studies from Columbia College. She also has her Certificate of Corporate Social Responsibility from CU Boulder and sits on the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce. Marsena said recently, of the DBJ award, that “We are only as good as those we surround ourselves with. This award is an honor, but moreover, it’s a reflection of the quality and caliber of my colleagues and Denver’s passionate community.”
