May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Posted by Maria Droste Counseling Center on May 05, 2021 in News and Communications
Join us all month as we hear from our community about the realities of mental illness and why the ability to access counseling is so important. During this year’s mental health awareness month, we aim to reach even more community members with the message that mental health is important. Beyond that, mental health is as important as physical health, and you are not alone.
High-quality mental healthcare exists. And it is affordable, accessible, and transformational here at Maria Droste Counseling Center. This mental health awareness month and all year long we are here to support you in taking care of your mental wellness. Whether you are actively struggling with mental illness or simply want to improve your coping skills – therapy can help! Counseling is not just for people who are struggling, it’s for anyone who wants to feel mentally well.
Unfortunately, many people experience barriers to mental health. These can range from stigma and fear of being judged to lack of childcare or transportation. Many people report financial constraints being the top barrier to mental healthcare, and therefore mental wellness. That’s why at Maria Droste, we believe everyone should have access to high-quality mental healthcare, regardless of ability to pay.
Stick with us all month to get the inside scoop on the go-to techniques our therapists use to improve mental health for people of all ages. Learn tips to reduce stress, promote healing, and increase your overall wellness. Do it all right from home by following us on social media all month long!
